About me

People come to therapy for a multitude of reasons. I can help you to clarify what brings you here, to make sense of how the situation arose and to see new perspectives and possibilities for change.
I believe that you should feel safe, respected and involved in the therapeutic process. I offer a confidential space where you can talk without judgement to come to a better understanding of yourself, your needs, relationships and life challenges, enabling you to discover and practice new ways of being to improve how you feel about yourself and your life.

I tailor my therapeutic approach to the specific needs of each individual. For example, this may mean working in a more structured, focussed way on a single issue, developing practical skills to help you navigate a specific life situation or relationship, or to increase your understanding and management of your feelings, or a less focussed open ended approach including looking at how your past experiences and childhood influence your current life.

I am skilled at guiding clients to use creativity as a tool to deepen self-expression, self-understanding and to see new ways to move forward. My work is informed by mindfulness and I can help you to learn practical tools that you can integrate into your life to develop awareness or to manage stress and anxiety.
I believe passionately that change is possible and I frequently work with clients experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem and self-harm or going through life changes or relationship difficulties. I have specialist experience in working with clients with eating disorders, addiction and trauma.

I have two masters degrees; one in integrative arts psychotherapy and another in psychodynamic art psychotherapy. Psychodynamic approaches, neuroscience, cognitive analytic therapy, attachment theory, trauma theory, gestalt, the Feldenkrais Method and mindfulness inform my work. I have worked in the mental health field for over fifteen years and have practiced as a psychotherapist for eight years. I have worked in the NHS, palliative care, schools, the charity sector and private sector with inpatients and outpatients. I am HCPC registered and an accredited member of BACP and adhere to their ethical guidelines.
