Francesca Robinson

BACP Registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About me

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working in Old Street offering short-term and open-ended therapy for individuals.

Every client has different needs and expectations of therapy, therefore my approach is not prescriptive and starts with each individual and their specific needs. In our initial meeting we will meet, have a general discussion about what you are looking for and assess if this is a good fit. It is a chance for you to ask any questions and for me to talk you through the process. Our relationship is fundamental in our work, and therefore it is important that we establish that I am the right therapist for you.

Therapy is a collaborative and creative process. I seek to provide a safe environment where we can talk about painful feelings that are often difficult to speak about. It is an opportunity to deepen self-awareness and self-understanding, encouraging personal growth, self-acceptance in a move towards authenticity. It offers a safe space for a second perspective, a chance to think about things that aren’t working or simply don’t feel right, as well as being a place to work through things that are more distressing or upsetting.

My approach is holistic, not trying to ‘treat’ symptoms but trying to establish what is at the source of the problem. Exploring the web of life and all things connected.

The path that led me to becoming a therapist has been a personal one. My experience is that therapy can be challenging but can also be full of possibility. From this I have developed a deep capacity for compassion and empathy for others in a place where they might feel out of their depth and in need of support.

Over a number of years I have worked with clients with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress, health issues, relationship problems, sexuality, grief and trauma. Whether it be a specific problem or a more complex issue, my approach is to start with the individual.
