Peter Teigen

UKCP Registered Psychotherapist

About me

I am a Gestalt Psychotherapist with a background in creative arts and psychology. I am interested in our creative adjustments and abilities.

I work with people who on their journeys are looking for direction, who have broken down, who want to turn back to some fork in the road so that they can then move forward again but in a different direction, who got lost or think that they got lost, who’s head-lights are of no longer sufficient strength to manoeuvre safely, who need some help to see what's ahead of them, whose ability to shine over the years became constrained or severed and where are the spare fuses located and where to put them? I work with metaphor. Viewing your path from different angles you pull over and recollect parts of you that became unwanted and disposed of along the way: therapy supports you to gather a hold of yourself and to carry on differently.

Training and qualification

I studied psychology, BSc (Hons), and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Gestalt Psychotherapy Studies and a Practitioner's Diploma. I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).
