Shammi Kohli

BACP Registered Psychotherapist

About me

I am an integrative therapist, working relationally, and valuing the individual; mind body and soul.

We are in relationship with ourselves, with each other and the world around us at all times. Our past relationships can shape us and affect our present. I believe my relationship with you in the therapeutic alliance can be a relationship to create change and transformation.

Each person brings with them their own cultural, social and family background, their sexuality and their life experiences which makes each interaction and therapueatic process unique. I am mindful of what makes us unique and what brings us together as human beings.

I work with a variety of issues; stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, loneliness, relationship and family, sexuality, identity, culture, shame, trauma and abuse, bereavement, separation and divorce.

Therapy can be both challenging and empowering. My aim is to walk alongside you through the ebb and flow. I work in an explorative and collaborative way. Looking to see what you want from this experience and what your goals are; whether it is looking at a specific area in your life that feels overwhelming at this moment in time, or exploring issues that you have been dealing with all your life and now want a space to revisit them with new eyes.

I offer an initial session so that we can meet and I can tell you a bit more about how I work and also for you to tell me your concerns and talk a little about how we could work together

All sessions are 50 minutes
I provide long term open ended work and short term work usually 12 weeks.
I can also be available for Skype sessions when necessary.
